Ajit Kokkat, M.D.
EducationDr. Kokkat attended medical school at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi 1990 thru 1996.
He completed his residency and fellowship training at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center, University Hospital of New York Medical College from 1997 thru 2005. He has been in clinical practice since 2005.

Dr. Kokkat was accepted into the premier medical institute in India and then proceeded to complete his training at New York Medical College. He was appointed Chief Resident and Clinical Skills Preceptor. He then completed fellowship programs in Geriatrics and Gastroenterology. He has published articles in various clinical journals and authored gastrointestinal chapters in a textbook of Clinical Geriatrics. He was involved in presenting several abstracts during the American College of Gastroenterology meetings and Digestive Diseases Week.
Dr Kokkat has received several awards during his career including a gold medal and Best Teaching by a Fellow awards. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr Kokkat treasures the accolades and letters he has received from his patients more than his professional distinctions.
He has been serving as the Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology at Windham Hospital since 2006.
